This Bay Pointe Woods wedding was the kind of day that unfolded slowly and intentionally, giving space for meaningful moments from start to finish. Chris and Kyle’s celebration spanned the entire weekend, beginning with time spent with family and friends and leading into a wedding day that felt relaxed and true to who they are as a couple.
From getting ready by the lake to an emotional outdoor ceremony and a lively reception inside the ballroom, every part of the day felt connected. It was a day filled with laughter, those sweet, quiet in-between moments, and so much love from the people who showed up for them!

This Bay Pointe Woods wedding weekend started with a relaxed rehearsal gathering at the Boathouse Villa, and it was such a beautiful way to ease into the celebration. This is exactly why I love wedding weekends so much. They give everyone more time to slow down, be present, and truly enjoy the people who traveled to be there. Instead of everything happening in a rush on the wedding day, there’s space to breathe, connect, and soak in the weekend as it unfolds.
Chris and Kyle’s rehearsal felt light and fun from start to finish. Guests mingled by the water, enjoyed good food and drinks, and spent the evening playing cornhole and catching up with family and friends. It was fall, and the weather was perfect. It wasn’t too cold or too hot. With the lake as the backdrop and no pressure on the timeline, the night flowed naturally. These are the moments I love documenting. The in-between conversations, the laughter, and the calm before the wedding day begins.

The morning of this Bay Pointe Woods wedding felt calm and intentional. Chris and her bridesmaids got ready together at Bay Pointe Inn in the Boathouse Villa, surrounded by soft light and views of the lake. Everyone wore matching blue pajamas, and Kyle and his groomsmen got ready nearby at Bay Pointe in the Frost Cottage Lower. Chris’s look was timeless and elegant, and her florals by Wyoming Stuyvesant Floral added a fresh, organic feel with soft blues and greenery.
Before the ceremony, Chris shared a series of first looks. First with her father, then her bridesmaids to follow. Chris and Kyle’s first look took place outdoors with beautiful views of Gun Lake. It was a peaceful pause in the day.

The wedding party colors tied everything together beautifully. The bridesmaids wore navy dresses that paired perfectly with the soft blue and white florals. The groomsmen’s classic black tuxes added a timeless feel. Bay Pointe Woods offers so many beautiful backdrops for portraits, from garden areas to open green spaces. Each location gave the photos a slightly different look while still feeling cohesive.

Their outdoor ceremony at Bay Pointe Woods was simple and thoughtfully set. Guests were seated along a garden aisle lined with blue and white florals, which added such a beautiful pop of color against the greenery. The pergola was filled with lush blooms and foliage, blending perfectly into the surrounding landscape of the property.
Even after sharing a first look earlier in the day, both Chris and Kyle were emotional seeing each other again as she walked down the aisle. Those moments always feel just as meaningful. You could see them taking it all in, surrounded by their loved ones.

After the ceremony, guests moved into cocktail hour where they mingled, enjoyed drinks, and shared great food together. The celebration then continued inside the ballroom for the reception, and Chris and Kyle were welcomed in with guests waving their napkins and cheering them on. From the start, the energy was high!
Their Bay Pointe Woods wedding reception was filled with heartfelt speeches, a packed dance floor, and so much joy. Like so many of my couples, it was clear just how deeply loved Chris and Kyle are. Everyone in the room was there to celebrate them wholeheartedly, and there’s truly nothing better than that.

One of the things I love most about wedding weekends is the extra time they allow. Chris and Kyle’s Bay Pointe Woods wedding was such a great example of that. They weren’t trying to fit everything into one busy day. Instead, they had time to slow down and be fully present with their friends and family throughout the weekend.
I’m also incredibly grateful for the trust they placed in me to document their day. As a Michigan wedding photographer, that trust means everything. When couples feel confident in the process, it allows them to stay present instead of worrying about the photos. Chris and Kyle trusted me completely, and their gallery reflects that. The images tell the story of how their wedding unfolded, not just how it looked, but how it truly felt.
